Seeking out rhinoplasty is nothing to be ashamed of, because an imperfection in your nose can have a major impact on your self-confidence. Even if no one else notices the slight hump on the bridge of your nose or the extra bit of fullness of the tip, you are likely to notice it. And it is in fact important, when you get a nose job, that you be the one you are trying to please, rather than your family, friends or significant other. This is a decision which, if all goes well, you will be living with and looking at in the mirror every day for the rest of your life. Take some time to think about your reasons for it. If possible, the surgeon will usually do the incisions for the nose job inside the nose so as to remove any scarring and maintain the overall appearance of the face. This is called a closed rhinoplasty. If the surgeon has to make an incision in the outside skin, he or she will most likely make it in the skin between the nostrils. This is called an open rhinoplasty. In most surgeries, nasal packing should not be necessary. Dr. Sean Freeman is Charlotte’s top rhinoplasty surgeon, certified by two different surgery boards, the American Board of Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has devoted his practice entirely to facial plastic surgery, including nose jobs, since 1988. Many of his patients have already gotten nose jobs from other surgeons and come to him for revision rhinoplasty to make them better.
